Integrity: the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
I personally define integrity as doing the right thing not only when people are looking but when people aren’t.
This is my moral guide.
Whenever a decision has to be made, a scene from Spike Lee’s ‘Do The Right Things’ plays in my head.
In my day to day I make the effort to do the right thing.
I don’t know about other people because it’s none of my business but I will continue to use integrity as a moral guide in situations where a decision must be made.
Knowing I did the right thing in any given situation clears my conscience.
The right thing for me to do would be to help the homeless man with some spare change. Whatever happens after is out of my control.
The right thing for to me to do would be to handle my interactions with people in a positive manner because you don’t know who you are dealing with. The world is small.
